Vertical Life Church Urdu (VLCU) is a vibrant, growing community of believers founded on the principles of faith, service, and transformation. Our journey began with Pastor Jamshad Hadyat, a man who was born and raised in Pakistan in a devout Christian family. His life is a testament to unwavering faith and obedience to God’s calling. After accepting Jesus as his personal savior in 1988 at a youth camp meeting, Jamshad felt a divine call to ministry, which he embraced wholeheartedly. In 1993, he began church planting, following God’s call with passion, despite societal expectations and pressures to pursue a different path.
Our Story
For 12 years, Jamshad impacted countless lives as a schoolteacher while serving in ministry. His journey took him across Pakistan, sharing the Gospel and touching hearts wherever he went. In 2008, he married his supportive and faith-filled partner, Anila, and together they continued their mission of spreading love and hope. Facing challenges in Pakistan, Jamshad and his family relocated to the United States, where he began a new chapter, dedicated to awakening spiritual revival.

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians. Therefore, we submit ourselves to its teaching, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires for us to be.

We believe in the power of prayer. Therefore, the ministries and activities our church will be characterized by a reliance on personal and corporate prayer in all areas of our lives and ministry.

We believe in the Great Commission commanded to us by Jesus Christ and we are committed to reaching unsaved and unchurched people locally, nationally and worldwide. We will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win and disciple the people in our sphere of influence.

We believe God ordained the family to glorify him. We are committed to cultivate an atmosphere which promotes spiritual growth within the family by reaching families with the gospel, discipling them in Christ-like character and teaching each family member how to fulfill their God-given role.
Meet Our Pastor
Guided by God, Jamshad and Anila settled in Clarkston, Georgia, where they saw a unique opportunity to serve the Urdu-speaking community. Their humble Bible study sessions grew into Vertical Life Church Urdu, officially launched in February 2016. Today, VLCU is a thriving congregation that continues to grow, fueled by the love and dedication of its leaders and members.
At the heart of our church is the partnership between Jamshad and Anila. Anila has been instrumental in the growth of VLCU, offering support, hospitality, and care to families in need. Her contributions, from opening their home for fellowship to ensuring that transportation was available for church activities, have helped build a welcoming community rooted in faith and love.
As a family, Jamshad and Anila, along with their four children—Josiah, Joshua, Ariana, and Micaiah—have sacrificed and served with unwavering faith. Their journey continues to inspire others to embrace God’s calling, create meaningful change, and overcome challenges with persistence and hope.
